Promoting positive community and canine welfare in California
Paul Aeschbacher has been advocating for the welfare of animals since a young boy. His passion for dogs dates back to the age of six when he acquired a beagle named Maggie.
All through out his adolescent and teenage years Paul would bring home less than fortunate animals.
Paul’s professional career spanned two and a half decades in healthcare, working in hospitals as an administrator of business operations. His career ended when he became to ill to work in 1999. Medical advancements have steadily improved his health.
Over his lifetime he experienced first hand the devastating effects of illness, financial distress and homelessness. With these life experiences he has committed himself to further advance his personal mission to rescue and rehome shelter dogs.
Mutts Up is a lifelong dream come true for Paul. Proudly, Paul decided to dedicate Mutts Up in honor of his past two dogs, Panda and Andy. It was these two dogs that provided him with the inspiration to keep going in tough times. Paul was rescued by two senior Pomeranians.
Carol Lacey has volunteered extensively with animals since moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2009. She has been involved with Marin Humane Society, San Francisco SPCA, Marin Friends of Feral's and Lily’s Legacy Senior Dog Sanctuary. She currently lives in Marin with her family, 2 cats and 3 dogs, all rescued from various places. She looks forward to focusing her full attention on Mutts Up and making it a truly special place for dogs to come and recharge physically, mentally, spiritually, before finding their forever homes!
